As we end the month of October, we are celebrating the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Akuffo Addo, who is the first patron of the Pan African Heritage World Museum(PAHWM). PAHWM will be virtually experienced by the entire Pan African world, and will be physically explored by those fortunate enough to travel to the Vanguard of Pan Africanism — Ghana — a country in the center of the earth and the burial ground of the widely considered Father of Pan Africanism — W.E.B Dubois.

Nana Akufo Addo has proven himself to be a true Pan Africanist, upholding the legacy of one of the greatest Pan Africanists — Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Some of his notable achievements include:

  • The Year of Return – Last year, Nana Akuffo Addo solidified Ghana’s prophetic and contemplative responsibilities towards Africa’s Children in the Diaspora by declaring 2019 as “The Year of Return.” The Year of Return commemorated the 400 years since the first enslaved Africans left the shores of the Gold Coast to North America.
  • Beyond The Return, Free Lands, Business Opportunities – Given the incredible success of the Year of Return, Nana Akuffo Addo did not stop there. He launched “Beyond the Return” which is meant to not only keep the momentum by providing even more socio-political opportunities through the Homeland Return Act, but also socio-economic opportunities such as free lands and business ventures.
  • Dual Citizenship – During this Year of Return, Nana Akuffo Addo added to Ghana’s Pan African history by strengthening his commitment to Pan Africanism and following in the example of the President who preceded him —John Mahama, issuing Dual Citizenship to 100 Africans from the Diaspora through an Executive Order. This proved that Ghana’s solidarity with her Children in the Diaspora transcended political lines.

In spite of the Pandemic the spirit of Pan Africanism continues to thrive as we pursue the completion of the Pan African Heritage World Museum. Therefore, we honor His Excellency, Nana Addo Akuffo Addo, for all his great achievements towards Pan Africanism. We are truly grateful to have His Excellency be the first Patron of The Pan African Heritage World Museum. He truly understands the power we hold as a unified global people rooted in a Pan African ideology that uplifts the Continent of Africa and liberates Africans all over the world. For that we say, in the Ghanaian spirit, Ayeekoo!! You have done well!
